About Kat
Hello! I’m Kat. I’m a Librarian in the Bay Area, CA. Some of my professional interests include teen services, technology, YA Literature, and creative library programming. I love my job and my library system, which constantly provide me with new challenges and new opportunities for learning and growth, and I’m really proud of what I’ve been able to accomplish there since staring in ‘06. I created this blog to document my librarian endeavors, but there is more to me than just an awesome librarian.
I am shy at times but goofy at others. I love all kinds of music, but with strong roots in the punk/indie scene. I am a tree-hugging vegan liberal, but I am not pushy about any of my views. I love cooking, dining out, and trying new food, including fun experiments in the kitchen with stuff like dehydrating, baking, fermenting, etc. I like being outside and exploring new places. I’ve been running off and on for a few years as a form of exercise and fun. I was born and raised in California, and I still live here, but I bought a house in Southern Maine. I’ll eventually live there when I start a family, which brings me to…
James! He’s my husband and partner in crime and in life. He is a Mainer, so I will finally fulfill my goal of fleeing overcrowded CA to our beautiful island home in Maine. Some day.
In the meantime, I’m having a blast living in the SF Peninsula and enjoying the proximity of endless natural and cultural opportunities for exploration. I have an awesome job, husband, dog, friends, family, and kitchen, so I ain’t complaining.
